At the Well: 10 – Faith in Pieces

Scripture Anchor:
“But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth.” — John 4:23a (NLT)

Soul Talk

Some days, our faith doesn’t come in full sentences. It comes in sighs. In quiet nods when we want to scream. In a half-prayed prayer whispered while folding laundry or sitting in the car, trying not to cry. It comes in pieces—torn between hope and heaviness, belief and brokenness.

The Samaritan woman came to the well carrying pieces. Pieces of her reputation. Pieces of her identity. Pieces of a story too tangled to explain. And Jesus didn’t ask her to be whole before He met her. He met her right there—with truth, love, and a revelation of Himself that changed everything.

There’s a holy kind of faith that lives in the fragments. When life hasn’t healed yet. When restoration hasn’t come yet. When you show up to your quiet time not because you feel strong, but because deep down, you believe God is still worthy—even when you’re not okay.

Jesus said the Father is looking for true worshipers. Not perfect ones. Not polished ones. Just true ones. Ones who come with what they have left, offering it with honesty.

If that’s all you have today—faith in pieces—that’s enough for Him.

Let’s Talk to God (A Healing Prayer)

Dear Lord Jesus,
You see the pieces of me I’ve tried to hide, the ones I’ve taped together with a smile and handed out like they’re whole. You know the quiet cracks and the places where I barely believe anymore. But still—I come. Not perfect. Not polished. Just real. Meet me here in my pieces. Make something beautiful from what I’m afraid to name. You are the Restorer. And I believe You still choose me, even now. In Your powerful name, Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen.

Key Questions to Reflect On

  • What parts of my faith feel fractured or tired right now?
  • Have I been waiting to feel whole before drawing near to God?
  • What does it mean to worship in spirit and in truth—even when I feel broken?

Soul Work

This week, bring your “fragmented faith” to God—no filter, no fixing. He’s not asking for perfect. Start your prayer time by simply saying: “Here’s what I have today, Lord.”

Key Meditation Scriptures:

  • Psalm 34:18 — “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”
  • Isaiah 42:3 — “He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle.”
  • Romans 12:12 — “Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.”
